This is one of the most challenging problems almost every article writers face at certain point. If you are a perfectionist, this may be a regular problem that you have to overcome every time you want to write an article. How do I get over it?

You know what you want to write. The idea is there. The main content is already in your head too. But you can't seem to come up with a great line to start your article.

Sounds familiar? Fortunately, there are a few ways to overcome this:

1. Focus on the content first

While the idea is still fresh in your mind and you know what to write, then write away. You don't have to start from the beginning. One of the simplest but effective ways to speed up your writing is by creating an outline first.

Using a skeleton for your article, the intro can come last. Usually after the content is already in place, writing an introductory paragraph becomes much easier.

2. Start with a question

For example, the intro paragraph in this article can easily be:

"Feeling stuck to get the very first line written in your article?"

That sentence has power and it immediately stop the readers in their tracks if they can relate to the problem.

3. Generalize, then rebut by introducing the problem

Describe about the topic in the first sentence and follow it by the problem. An example for this article may be:

"Article marketing can be powerful, but most people can't seem to get the first sentence started."

There is certainly more than one way to do it, if this is really a challenge for you, start with the three points above and build your own repository of opening paragraph templates.
